This is a great way to understand life in the UK and integrate into your local community. You may want to learn English to help you find work, enable you to study, help with daily living and help you to socialise. You will be able to attend ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages).</p> <p>You will be assessed to see what your knowledge of English is and placed at a suitable level. You will learn:</p> <ul> <li>• Conversational English</li> <li>• Listening to English</li> <li>• Reading and writing English</li> <li>• Vocabulary</li> <li>• Punctuation and grammar</li> </ul> <p>In order to apply for an ESOL course, you should contact your local further education college.</p> <p>Courses generally begin in September. If you are having trouble finding a college offering a suitable ESOL course, you should ask your local Jobcentre Plus for assistance.</p> <h3>Will I have to pay?></h3> <p>England - if you are receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance or employment-based ESA, you will be able to access free ESOL classes.</p> <p>Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - ESOL courses are free of charge.</p> </div>
